What an interesting feature to comment about in animals. The archer fish is also on your list. I have never seen one do this in the wild, but apparently they use a stream of water flowing from their specialised fish mouths to shoot down insects from the land and then eat them. So an archer fish also spits for food. I also have seen a llama spit. It wasn't for food, it was because the llama was feeling threatened. So it was spitting for defence.
